Name of Post:The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of 1,70,461 school teachers in Bihar. The vacancies are for the posts of Primary Teacher, TGT (Teachers Grade II), and PGT (Teachers Grade III). The online application process will begin on June 15, 2023, and will close on July 12, 2023.
To be eligible for the recruitment, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Age: Minimum age of 18 years and maximum age of 37 years for male candidates and 40 years for female candidates as on 01.08.2023.
- Educational Qualification:
- Primary Teacher: Graduation from a recognized university or equivalent.
- TGT: Graduation with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject and two years of teaching experience at the secondary level.
- PGT: Graduation with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject and three years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level.
- Application Fee:
- General, OBC, and candidates from other states: Rs. 750/-
- SC/ST/PH candidates: Rs. 200/-
The application process will be conducted online through the BPSC website. Candidates can apply by creating a profile and filling up the application form. The application fee can be paid online using a debit card, credit card, or net banking.
The BPSC will conduct a written examination to select the candidates. The examination will be held in two phases. The first phase will be a screening test and the second phase will be a mains examination. The examination will be conducted in Hindi and English.
The shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The interview will be conducted by a panel of experts. The final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the written examination and the interview.
The selected candidates will be appointed as school teachers in the Bihar government schools. They will be eligible for a salary, allowances, and other benefits as per the government rules.

- Date of written examination (Phase 1): August 2023
